01

What is AI automation?

Automation follows rules. AI automation can also read, write and decide. Plain automation is “when this happens, do that”. AI adds a step in the middle that can understand a brief, write a script or choose a title, then the rules carry on.

01

Trigger

Something happens

e.g. A new idea lands in your sheet.

02

Think

AI does the reading and writing

e.g. Research it, write the script, pick the title.

03

Act

Apps do the work

e.g. Make the voice, build the video, upload it.

  • Write the script2h
  • Record voice-over1h
  • Find / make visuals2h 30m
  • Edit & caption3h

  • Upload & share30m

Tap “With automation” to see what changes when the repetitive steps run themselves.

02

How does AI automation work?

Every automation is a chain of small steps: a trigger, some work, a result. Here's a full YouTube pipeline. Tap each step. Most steps are plain rules, only a few are AI, and one step is always you.

Trigger

Something starts the machine: a new row in a Google Sheet, a Telegram message, or a schedule (every Monday 9 AM).

Tools: Google Sheets · Telegram · n8n Schedule

You type: “5 facts about the Benin Bronzes”
out
A new job starts

Now a real one. One Telegram message in, nine platforms out.

A real n8n workflow: send a photo and an idea to a Telegram bot, and it makes an image, turns it into a video, writes the caption and posts it everywhere. Press run.

VEO3 video and Blotato posting are paid. A cheaper version uses Veo3 Fast and fewer platforms.

Where you stay in control

Previews come back to your Telegram, and every run is logged in a Google Sheet.

Five words you'll hear a lot

API
A door one app opens so another app can talk to it. How n8n “uses” ChatGPT for you.
Webhook
A link that triggers a workflow the moment something hits it, like a form being submitted.
Prompt
The instruction you give an AI. Write a good one once and the workflow reuses it forever.
Agent
An AI step that can decide which tool to use next, not just answer once.
Workflow
The full chain: trigger → steps → result. In n8n you draw it like a flowchart.

Benefits and applications of AI automation

The real benefit isn't speed. It's showing up every week, without burning out.

Hours saved / month
124
That's about
16 work days

Based on ~11 hrs by hand vs ~1.6 hrs automated per video. Your numbers will differ. The point is the gap.

Consistency

Post on schedule even in a busy week. The algorithm rewards channels that show up.

Speed

Go from idea to draft in minutes, so your time goes into ideas and quality.

Scale

One system can run a second channel, a second language, or Shorts from every long video.

Lower cost

Fewer hours editing and fewer freelancers for the repetitive parts.

The same skill, beyond YouTube

This is where businesses pay. Most of these are systems we've built.

  • Content

Long video → 5 Shorts, captions, a blog post and a newsletter, automatically.

  • Customer service

A WhatsApp AI that answers a tailor's customers, takes measurements and books fittings.

  • Sales

Every enquiry gets scored by AI; hot leads ping the owner on Telegram in seconds.

  • Hospitality

Hotel guests book, ask questions and get reminders without a receptionist typing.

  • Real estate

Property enquiries get matched to listings and routed to the right agent.

  • Admin

Invoices chased, receipts filed, meetings summarised, all while you sleep.

How beginners can get started

Do it by hand first, then automate what you repeat. Seven days, one small win each day.

Your first 7 days
Tick each day off. Your progress is saved on this phone.
Automate the step you hate most first.

That's where you'll notice the time you get back.

Repeat it 3 times, then automate it.

You can't automate a process you haven't done yourself.

Always keep a review step.

AI drafts. You decide what goes live.

Start on your laptop.

n8n runs free on your own computer. Move to a server only when you need it running 24/7.

06

Challenges and future opportunities

It's not a shortcut to instant wealth. It's leverage. Tap each card to flip it.

The real challenges

  • Dollar billing. Many AI APIs charge in USD, and Naira cards hit limits. Start with free tiers and self-hosted n8n.
  • Quality & mistakes. AI gets facts wrong with full confidence. Keep a human review step before anything goes live.
  • Policy & copyright. Don't reuse other people's clips or music. Monetization needs original, valuable content.
  • Sameness. If 1,000 channels use the same prompt, they all look alike. Your style prompt is an asset; protect it.
  • Platforms change. APIs and rules shift. Build small, modular workflows so one change doesn't break everything.

Where it's going

  1. 01
    Agents run the production line

You become editor-in-chief: approving, steering and adding taste while agents do the legwork.

  2. 02
    Every video, every language

AI dubbing lets one channel reach English, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, French and Swahili audiences.

  3. 03
    Builders get paid

Every business needs these systems and few people can build them. That's the opportunity in this room.
